Lot 246

1851 N-23 R3 PCGS graded MS65+ Brown. Lustrous medium chocolate brown and steel. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even the highpoints of the devices, and it offers excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a minor splash of darker chocolate toning at TAT in STATES and a smaller one at the top of the first A in AMERICA. Nicely struck E-MDS, die state a. The die lines from the dentils to the A in STATES are clear and the fields are starting to show fine radial die flowlines. Our grade is MS62, CC#5 for the variety in the Grellman census but finest of the early die state a. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
