Lot 2382

1895-S $10 Gold Liberty. PCGS graded MS-60. The 1895-S has the second lowest mintage for S-mint eagles from the 1890's, only 49,000. As mentioned in the description of the 1894-S, the 1895-S is exceedingly difficult to find in grades higher than MS62. A choice and original MS-60 - 61 is a tough find and a good deal for the money. This 1895-S eagle has charming light orange hues mixed with deep yellow gold surfaces. Luster is plentiful and while this piece is a true uncirculated, we do not some minor abrasions, and hairlines, on the obverse. Additionally, there is a small scratch on the rim above the T of UNITED. PCGS has graded 4 in MS-61, 2 in MS-62 and 2 in MS-66 as finest (PCGS # 8734) .
Estimated Value $1,700 - 1,800.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $2,070
