1794 S-37 R6+ PCGS VF Detail Environmental Damage. Slightly glossy dark olive brown and steel. Sharply struck and free of verdigris or notable contact marks, but the planchet is covered with uniform fine erosion and granularity. The best identifying mark is a very light rim bruise at the U in UNITED. EDS, Breen state I, before the obverse die was lapped. The date and legends are complete and clear. A sharp, reasonably attractive example of a variety that nearly always comes with significant surface problems. Graded VF25 net VG10 and tied for CC#4 honors in the Noyes census, his photo #57023. Not seen by Bland. Our grade is VF25 sharpness net F12. A very important example of the rarest numbered die variety of 1794 cents. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #35576.
