1913 $2.50 Indian. NGC graded Proof 66. A fresh well struck matte proof. A significant and rare coin in this grade. Remember that a scant 165 were coined in Proof, and few can match the level of quality here. On the obverse, we see no flaw or signs of contact, and a lovely deep orange to coppery gold patina; the Chief's hair and headdress are razor sharp. On the reverse, similar bold detail occurs and again without signs of contact, the eagle bold and virtually perfect. Deep sandblast gold in color, free of spotting.
