1871 Dollar Octagonal Liberty. Breen and Gillio-1104. High Rarity 4. PCGS graded MS-63. Marvelous multi-colored toning is evident on both sides. The obverse displays golden-orange and shades of lavender speckled throughout. The reverse exhibits intense golden hues and an inkling of magenta. The rough appearance of the portrait points to insufficient die pressure to strike the design completely, a common occurrence. Pop 10; 11 finer, 8 in 64, 3 in 65 (PCGS # 10915) .
