Lot 212

1850 N-9 R2 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive lustrous medium brown and light chocolate with underlying very faded mint color showing through the toning, especially on the obverse. Nearly flawless. The only notable mark is a minor spot of darker toning nestled between the hair bun and star 10. Sharply struck LDS, die state c, with a die crack through the top of ME to the dentils above the adjacent A. All the stars have full radial lines and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. The obverse fields are smooth and slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die polishing. A beautiful cent. Our grade is MS63+, close to MS64. The attribution and Iskra provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 5; 1 finer in 66 for the variety at PCGS. Estimated Value $750-UP

Ex Lillian Willins Collection (via Bill Noyes) 1/1992-J. R. Grellman Collection 2/1/2012-Fred Iskra Collection (includes the Grellman collection envelope).
