Lot 2081

1874-S. Arrows. PCGS graded MS-64. Fully lustrous, with drifts of snowy mint luster on both sides. Lightly toned at the rims and well struck. The arrowheads on either side of the date make this a very popular sub-type, since they were placed on the coins only in 1873 and 1874. The purpose of the arrowheads was to introduce the use of the metric system on U.S. coins, which resulted in an insignificant change in the standard weight (PCGS # 5495) Estimated Value $1,600 - 1,800

Realized $1,783
