1723 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny Martin 4.34-Gb.3 Rarity-2 PCGS graded VF30, CAC Approved. Attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate fading to medium chocolate brown in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth. The only notable mark is a light scratch in the field under the date, and the scratch does not alter the attractive toning. LDS with die cracks on the lower part of the obverse and the top of the 3 filled with crumbling. While the PCGS label identifies this as the 1723/2 overdate variety, it is not. Perhaps the crumbling in the 3 led them in the wrong direction. The Heard provenance is noted on the PCGS label. Listed on page 47 in the "Redbook." Estimate Value $100 - UP
