Lot 1991
1907. High Relief, Roman Numerals, Wire Rim. PCGS graded MS-61. Well struck with light golden toning. Some minor surface hairlines and marks. This has a pale gold sheen, both sides display the boldness of definition that explains the unflagging reputation this first-year issue has earned. A few deeper marks on the eagle and its wings are normal abrasions found on gold Double Eagles, and account for the MS61 designation. We stress, however, that the eye appeal is still operative for the Brilliant Uncirculated grade level. America’s premier coin design (PCGS # 9135) . Estimated Value $14,000 - 15,000.
