1899 $1 Silver Certificate. Fr. 233. PMG Choice Unc 64. Signed at left by Houston B (enge) Tehee on July 16, 1949. Tehee, born in the Cherokee Nation in 1874, was elected Mayor of Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1908, then the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1911 and 1913, then named Register of the Treasury in 1915 by President Wilson. As he was responsible for signing every Liberty Loan Bond during World War 1, he developed a repititve-motion that permanently damaged his right hand and arm.
