Lot 189

1829 N-1 R3 Large Letters PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Frosty medium chocolate brown, the obverse delicately mottled with lighter steel brown and olive. Frosty mint luster shows through in the protected areas and the eye appeal is excellent. The only notable mark is a tiny spot near the wreath under the E in UNITED. Very sharply struck MDS. All the stars show full radial lines and a fine die crack reaches from the dentils over M through the top of ER. A nice 1829 cent. Noyes photo #37463. Our grade is AU55. The attribution and Dan Holmes provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #36910. Pop 4; tied for the finest Mint State Brown examples graded at PCGS, only 2 graded finer in MS-64 RB for the variety. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
