Lot 186

1834. B-4, Rarity-1. PCGS graded MS-66. Crisply struck with intensely lustrous and frosty mint surfaces surrounded by electric blue toning about the borders. The fields are virtually perfect in their preservation, with no signs of handling or bagmarks of any kind. The devices are fully equal to the fields, with nary a nick or tick mark to be found. That's what makes this incredible coin so incredible--the stunning quality of the surfaces. As a point of fact, this is one of the very finest graded by PCGS, tied with a trio of others at this lofty grade level and unsurpassed by any other 1834 quarter in terms of quality. Furthermore, the eye appeal is exceptional here, with gorgeous antique blue around the obverse, the reverse showing similar rings of russet and gold before fading over to the regal bright surfaces befitting one of the finest surviving examples of this type. Pop 4; tied for the finest examples graded at PCGS. (PCGS # 5353) Estimated Value $25,000 - UP

Realized $36,000
