1854-D. Large D. PCGS graded MS-62. A hint of gold tone over abundant satin luster in the fields. Although available in circulated grades, the 1854-D half eagle is a prime rarity in mint state, as not many survived in new condition. Here is one of the finer pieces, with rich orange-gold luster and strong visual appeal. The surfaces are pleasing for the modest grade too. A coin for the Dahlonega Mint specialist or date collector, and one that will always bring a smile to the lucky owner's face. Only 56,413 struck. Pop 9; 6 finer, 3 in 63, 1 in 64, 1 in 64+, 1 in 65.
