Lot 182

1828 N-6 R1 NGC graded MS62 Brown. The obverse is lustrous bluish gunmetal steel and olive while the reverse is a lighter shade of brown with underlying faded mint red showing through in the fields and protected areas. Sharply struck and quite attractive. There is the lightest touch of rub on the very highest points of the portrait but the cent has solid mint state eye appeal. No notable marks, only a few microscopic ticks of no significance. MDS with the usual tiny lumps from die rust scattered over the obverse. There are a pair of very fine die cracks on the obverse but the final crack from the tip of the coronet to star 6 has not formed. A nice cent. Our grade is AU58. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Pop 2; only 2 examples graded higher in 64 at NGC for the variety. Estimated Value $600 - UP
