1899 $1 Silver Certificate. Fr. 229A. PCGS-C VF 35PPQ. While the Fr. 229 notes were initially printed in 1909, a decision was made to move the series date over the right edge of the note vertically beginning in 1911, thus creating Fr. 229A's which today are the second rarest of the whole Black Eagle series with less than 300 notes recorded, while Fr. 229 has over 1700 notes.
