1794 S-55 R2 VF30. Sharpness EF45 but there is a hairline scratch from under the E in LIBERTY down to the chin where it fades away, a couple lighter hairline scratches in the field under the cap, and areas of microscopic granularity show on both sides, especially on the reverse. Traces of shallow reddish steel verdigris can be found in protected areas on the reverse. Frosty steel brown and chocolate. Sharply struck MDS, Breen state II. The die crack in the field under the cap extends down through the hair to the shoulder. Removed from a PCGS slab graded XF45 (PCGS label #901374.45/14771740). Estimate Value $3,500 - UP
