France: Orange. Ecu, 1650. Dav-3844; KM-98. William IX of Nassau, 1647-1650. Bust right. Reverse; Crowned arms. Very Scarce type. PCGS graded Fine Detail (Tooled). Estimated Value $800 - 1,000
William IX was succeeded by his son William-Henri, for whom an ecu was struck in 1652. Louis XIV seized Orange and incorporated it into his kingdom. William-Henri later became William III of England.
