Lot 169

1827 N-5 R2 NGC graded MS62 Brown. The obverse is medium chocolate brown and steel while the reverse is a lighter shade of medium brown. It appears this cent has never been brushed and a layer of oxidation covers the obverse. No spots, stains, or contact marks. There is no wear on the highpoints and this looks like a mint state cent with a dull, oxidized obverse. May benefit from a proper brushing. MDS with a fine die crack down from the curl at star 13 but no crack from the chin. Our grade is AU55. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Pop 2; 4 graded higher at NGC for the variety, 3 in 63, 1 in 65. Estimated Value $700 - UP
Ex Heritage Auctions 3/21/2014:10015-Chuck Hall Collection (lot ticket included).
