Col. M.V. Sheridan, who served as his military secretary, telling him he can remain a few days longer; George G. Meade, 1863 pay voucher for discharged Pvt. Simon Mabus of D Co., 12 Regt., Pa. Cav.; Winfield Scott, free-franked address panel with rank, Major Genl.; Benjamin Butler, 1877 New York check signed to Miss E R Eastman; Admiral David D. Porter, signature and rank on small paper affixed to a larger page; Daniel E. Sickles, signature as Maj. Gen. on card with rank, Oct. '81, matted with engraving and framed to 15½ x 10"; Nelson A. Miles, bold signature on a 2 ½ x 4" card; G.T. Beauregard, signature and date (1882) on a small piece of paper affixed to a larger page; Joseph Wheeler, 2 ½ x 4" card signed and dated (Sept 6, 1900); ADS signed by Dr. James Ross, certifying that a recruit is fit to be a soldier; 1869 bounty receipt for $100 which blacksmith John F.
