1901. NGC graded Proof 65 Cameo. A blast white Gem Cameo Proof! Only 813 struck. This date is significant because business strikes are scarce in Mint condition, which puts more stress on the Proofs. As it is, Proofs were struck in small numbers. This beautiful Gem displays a silvery brilliance untopped by any others in its Proof 65 class, brilliance over remarkably clean surfaces that impresses us with its fresh originality. Struck with systematic exactness throughout, there is no need to ignore the central part of the eagle’s breast where a somewhat rounded impression is sometimes left by even Proof dies. This 1901 is decidedly bold in the centers. Pop 6; 9 finer (PCGS # 7336) .
