1798 S-172 R2 Small 8, Style II Hair VG10. Five points sharper but there is a long rim bruise from the 17 to left of the lowest curl plus a rim bruise at the R in LIBERTY and a dull nick on the rim at the bust tip. The planchet appears smooth to the unaided eye but a glass reveals extremely fine roughness hidden under glossy dark olive brown and chocolate toning. This cent offers nice eye appeal in spite of the imperfections. Rare LDS, Breen state VI, with a rim cud joining ICA to the rim.
