$2.50 Gold Liberty. 1876-S. PCGS graded AU-53. A better date quarter eagle from San Francisco. Only 4,000 pieces were produced and AU examples seem undervalued compared to rarity. The present example has rich orange-gold toning and thick luster. Several small marks are seen on the obverse. PCGS Pop of 5 with 36 finer (PCGS # 7825) .
