Lot 145

1846 N-2 R2 Repunched 1 EF40. Slightly sharper but lightly cleaned and nicely retoned frosty light to medium olive brown and steel with hints of very faded red in protected areas. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has excellent eye appeal. No notable marks. Very rare M-LDS, die state e, with small but well-defined rim cud breaks at ES and AM. CC#4 among only 6 confirmed examples of the die state in the Grellman census, and the clarity of the cuds is a plus. Comes with a nice provenance. Estimated Value $225 - UP
