1873 Pattern Trade Dollar. Silver, reeded edge. . J-1322. . P-1465. NGC graded Proof 65 Rarity 4. Nice blue and gold toning. Housed in an old holder. Here, too, we are pleased to describe a wonderful Pattern trade dollar of the finest order whose explosive mirror luster adorns the well toned surfaces. Piercingly sharp for a Proof 65 coin, it is easily finer in sharpness than many in nominally higher grade Patterns of its vintage. Well worth the extra effort involved in acquiring ownership since it appears in Gem quality only on rare occasions. Witness the low census: Pop 5; 1 in 66, none finer at NGC (PCGS # 61608) .
