Vanity Fair Cartoon Lithographs, 1872-1898. Betwen 1868 and 1914 the magazine used this series, known by many as "Spy Cartoons," to both lampoon and praise eminent Victorian and Edwardian politicians, sportsmen, lawyers and other "Men of the Day." These twelve prints by various artists are all in fine conditionand include biographical texts, some by Jehu Junior, the alias of magazine founder Thomas Gibson Bowles. Six also include official certificates of authenticity. All images are roughly 13¼" x 8¼" inside 19¼" x 13½" mattes.
