1858 Pattern Cent. Copper-nickel, plain edge. Judd-212. Pollock-256. Rarity 4. PCGS graded Proof 64 OGH PQ. CAC. Lovely golden toning on both sides. A Premium Quality example. The obverse is the design as adopted in 1859 but dated 1858, the reverse has a more complex shield at the top of the wreath than seen in 1860, but the idea was well in place before the main design was adopted in 1859. Lovely surfaces and frosted on the devices, with all the appeal one could hope to find on this popular early Indian cent pattern (PCGS # 11895) Estimated Value $900 - 1,000
