Lot 130

1847 N-38/16 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Attractive lustrous bluish steel and olive with traces of faded mint red remaining in protected areas on the reverse. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even the highest points of the devices, and the eye appeal is outstanding. The only notable marks are a small collection of microscopic pinpricks in the field right of star 4 and a small diagonal struck-through line in the field above star 12 (as struck). M-LDS, die state c late (Newcomb's #16). The die lines from the inner and main curls are gone and a die clashmark shows at the bottom of the neck. The reverse is still uncracked. Our grade is MS62+. Estimated Value $350-UP

Ex Tom Reynolds 1/10/2014-Fred Iskra Collection.
