1851. PCGS graded MS-63. Wonderful bold strike and shimmering with golden-orange mint luster. This coin is simply dazzaling, with super clean surfaces and unending eye appeal. Notice the exceptional quality and satin nature of the surfaces, for rarely are Type 1 double eagles found even approaching the quality level of the present coin. Clearly Harry Bass, Jr., was onto one of the nicest examples of this date when he secured this particular coin for his incredible collection.
