Catalina Island Pottery: 7 Pieces in Descanso Green Plus Including a 4 Piece Setting and a Superior Chop Plate. Catalina Pottery was founded in 1927 and sold in 1937 and is the commonly used name for Catalina Clay Products, a division of the Santa Catalina Island Company. The company produced a beloved line of pottery including tiles, tableware and decorative items all now highly prized by collectors worldwide.
Collection of 7 pieces in Descanso green, one of their best color glazes. Very desirable large chop plate 12" marked in large letters CATALINA on verso, a thick serving plate 10" a 4 piece setting: (10" dinner plate, 9" salad plate and 5" soup bowl with 6.5" saucer). Also including a cat, very close to the glaze but unmarked, possibly GMB. Estimated Value $500 - 800
