1850-C. NGC graded MS-61+. A rare and desirable example of this elusive date and mint. Only 9,148 pieces were struck, and from that perhaps 160 exist today in all grades (per CoinFacts) In mint state their estimates fall to about 7 pieces of which this is certainly one of the finer ones. Handome rich golden surfaces, with a touch of copper tints. The strike is better than average for this Charlotte Mint issue, with the curls well defined on Liberty and the eagles' feathers well struck for this date.
