Lot 120

1808 C-3 R1 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Lustrous tan and light reddish brown with darker olive brown and steel toning on the obverse. Satiny mint luster covers the surfaces and the only contact marks is a vertical hairline from the ear lobe down to the shoulder. However there is a planchet void (as minted) at the rim above the R in LIBERTY, and this defect is visible without a glass. This piece was struck two times on the obverse with an offset of a half millimeter between impressions. Clear evidence of the extra strike shows along the profile of Ms Liberty from the top of her head down to the bottom of her neck. M-LDS, Manley state 4.0. The reverse is not rotated. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 2 finer, 1 in 63, 1 in 64+ for the variety. Estimate Value $2,500 - UP
