1848-D. NGC Unc Details, improperly cleaned. Well struck with attractive golden toning. We note some minor hairlines visible only under strong magnification with the aid of a light. A very choice looking example. Only 13,771 minted of which merely 195 examples are estimated to have survived.
Obverse with high date, 1 touching truncation above, nearly touching dentils below. Final 8 in date distant from truncation, close to dentils. Winter’s reverse 10-L, D mintmark high, opening in D half filled with feather details. The tip of the fraction bar extends to a point below the center of the D (PCGS # 7751) .
