1793/2 Washington Ship Halfpenny with Lettered Edge Breen-1225 NGC graded AU details, improperly cleaned. Cleaned and retoned glossy steel and chocolate with traces of very faded reddish steel toning in some of the protected areas on both sides. The only mark is a thin planchet lamination slanting through the top of Washington's head to the rim at each end. This pre-striking planchet flaw is the only mark on an otherwise attractive piece. Early die state showing traces of the 3 over 2 overdate feature and only minor swelling on the reverse.
