1859-D. PCGS graded AU-53. Lots of mint luster visible and the strike is sharp. Handsome quality and rich golden eye appeal. A scarce date as gold supplies started to dry up with the near onset of the Civil War. Thus mintages from the Dahlonega Mint were tiny, with only 2,244 struck in 1859 for this denomination.
