1847 N-24/25 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown. Lustrous medium steel brown and light olive with traces of mint color on both sides, especially on the reverse. A very attractive cent, essentially flawless. The best identifying marks are a microscopic planchet flake in the field off the end of the chin (as struck), a small spot of darker chocolate brown toning at the dentil tips between stars 6 & 7, and another spot of darker toning at the bottom of the E in CENT. M-LDS, die state c (Newcomb's #25). The die crack through the top of ME is clear and it reaches the dentils over the adjacent letters. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 5; tied for finest graded at PCGS for the variety. Estimated Value $900-UP
