Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 112

Lot 1141

1841-D. PCGS graded AU-55. Very well struck, lustrous and untoned. The surfaces show a few minor handling marks, primarily in the fields, typical of a lightly circulated quarter eagle. This date and mint are quite rare at this lofty grade level. First off only 75 or so exist in all grades, and this particular coin is tied with three others as one of the top examples known today, nudged out by two mint state coins. Pictured as the best available coin in the CoinFacts website for this date and mint. The eye appeal is high and the rich blazing luster add to the desirability. Only 4,164 struck. Pop 4; 2 finer, 1 in 62, 1 in 63. (PCGS # 7722) Estimate Value $5,000 - UP

Realized $10,500
