Lot 114

1847 N-24 R1 PCGS graded AU58. Glossy mint red fading to medium steel brown with at least 20% of the faded mint color remaining on both sides. The notable marks are a couple light nicks on the jaw, a thin nick on the neck, and a speck of carbon off the left end of the base of the 4. E-MDS, die state b early. Both dies were freshly lapped. The fields are prooflike and covered with fine die polishing lines. The lines from the inner and main curls are short but clear. A neat intermediate die state for this variety. Our grade is MS60. The attribution and Iskra provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 9 finer, 1 in 62, 3 in 64, 5 in 65 for the variety at PCGS. Estimated Value $250-UP
