1888. NGC graded Proof 65 Cameo. A flashy fully untoned coin that offers eye catching contrast between the frosty devices and mirror fields. As the Gold dollar denomination wound down production in 1889, the last few years saw an unexpected increase in production of these Proofs--much to the delight of collectors today.
