1836 N-3 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Choice lustrous medium olive and steel brown with 20% of the planchet showing slightly faded mint red, mostly on the reverse. This cent looks flawless and it offers outstanding eye appeal. No spots or stains, and the only notable marks are an extremely faint nearly vertical scuff in the field before the chin and mouth, a faint diagonal hairline in the field left of star 11, and a tiny rim nick over the second S in STATES. LDS. There is a cud break at star 6 and a fine crack that arcs across the upper part of the reverse from the first S in STATES to the left side of the M in AMERICA. Our grade is MS63. Noyes says MS63 and tied for CC#2, his photo #38003. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 1 finer in 66 for the variety.
