1847 N-18 R5 Large 7 over Medium 7 PCGS graded AU58. Attractive frosty medium brown and light olive tan. Just a hint of friction on the highest points from mint state. The notable marks are a tiny dig under the wreath ribbon, a tiny speck of reddish brown verdigris under star 6, and another below the 4. Otherwise this cent is virtually flawless and the eye appeal is outstanding. Attractive frosty medium brown and light olive tan. E-MDS, die state a. The date repunching is sharp on all 4 digits and the obverse rim is unbroken. The portrait is covered with microscopic die rust, as always on this variety. The so-called "Large 7 over Medium 7" (actually a repunched date) feature is strong. Our grade is AU50, CC#13 in the Grellman census. Comes with a very nice provenance.
