Lot 105

1829 N-8 R1 Large Letters PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Lustrous medium brown and light chocolate with traces of faded mint color showing on the obverse. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is excellent. The only marks are an inconspicuous diagonal nick or planchet chip on the chin and a small diagonal nick in the field over the N in ONE. MDS. The fields are covered with fine die flowlines but there are no rim cuds on either side. This is the plate coin for the variety in The Cent Book, John Wright's reference on the cents of 1816-1939. Graded MS60+ and tied for CC#4 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 and tied for CC#6, his photo #35174. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Brown-Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer, 1 in 64, 1 in 65, 1 in 66 for the variety. PCGS #36925. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
