Lot 877

1801 S-213 R2 NCS graded Fine details, environmental damage. Sharpness F12 or slightly better but there are spots of raised verdigris around ONE CENT and the ribbon below. Otherwise the surfaces are decent and mostly smooth, although there may be extremely fine roughness under the glossy very dark olive and steel patina. The highpoints are a slightly lighter shade of chocolate brown. The only contact marks are a few fine scratches in the field behind the portrait, all blending nicely into the natural patina. MDS, Breen state V, with a series of parallel die cracks from ERTY into the field before the face. The date is strong and the legends are clear. Our grade is net VG10.
Estimated Value $100-UP.

Realized $184
