Lot 788

1823. Overton-105. Rarity-1. PCGS graded MS-65. Well struck and lightly toned with medium russet gold to gray spanning both sides. The fields and devices are nearly perfect in their quality, with no signs of handling or digs from bags. The strike is sharp on all of Liberty's curls, and the eagle is bold throughout. Precious few 1823 half dollars are found in full mint state these days, in gem the number drops off dramatically. This is one if the finer coins known to reprsent the date. Pop 6; 5 finer, 3 in 65+, 2 in 66. (PCGS # 6131) Estimated Value $6,000 - UP
