Lot 669

1831 First Restrike Breen 1-B Rarity-6-. PCGS graded Proof 67 Brown. Variety with the Reverse of 1836. Bluish steel and light olive mixed with medium chocolate brown. Traces of faced mint color show through in a couple of the protected areas on the obverse. The surfaces are nearly flawless but are rather dull from a thin layer of natural oxidation. The only notable marks are a brownish spot on the right side of the N in UNITED and another on the upper left seriph of that same letter. The fields are nicely reflective under the thin veneer of oxidation. Our grade is Proof-63. PCGS population 1 with none finer.
Estimated Value $30,000-UP.
