Antique Indian Seed Pearl Sash. Long, sinuous sash of lustrous seed pearls arranged as two entwined braids, each formed of five entwined pearl strings. Each end terminates in a gold, dome-shaped fitting connected to a large cabochon semi-precious stone, one celadon green and the other cranberry red, which connects to a second eight-sectioned gold dome, each section of which is set with one large and one small semi-precious white stone. From this second set of domes is then suspended a full tassel of seed pearl strings. Stunning when worn as a lariat, this turn-of-the-century, flapper-era piece is remarkably modern. Total length is 52". India (made for the English trade), ca. 19th-early 20th century. Estimated Value $300 - 500

Realized $630
