Lot 623

$5 National Bank Note. Lee NB, Lee, MA. Ch. 885. Fr. 397b. PCGS-C Fine 15 Apparent. This was the only bank to charter within this Berkshire county town, doing so in March 1865 and lasting the entire era. Pen signatures of John L. Kilbon as Cashier and Harrison Garfield as President, both men serving together from 1868 through 1885. PCGS Currency mentions edge splits and tears on back of their holder, yet these do not distract at all from this eye appealing note. Very Rare. Estimated Value $750 - UP

Realized $960
