Lot 604

1853 N-33 R2+ PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown. Beautiful lustrous bluish steel brown fading down from mint red, about 40% of the mint color remaining. A very choice example except for a thin planchet fissure on the rim above star 6 and a shallow low spot at BE in LIBERTY (both defects as struck). LDS, die state b. The dash left of the base of the 1 is gone. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#3 in the Grellman census. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 3; tied for the finest examples graded at PCGS for the variety. Estimate Value $500 - UP
