Jimmy Hendrix: 1968 Original Gelatin Silver Photo at Winterland by Grammy Winning Photojournalist, Jim Marshall (1936-2010) James Joseph Marshall was an American photographer (and photojournalist) who immortalized musicians of the 1960s and 1970s with his brilliant eye for composition. Earning the trust of his subjects, he had extended access to his subjects both on and off-stage and a great number of his photos are instantly recognizable so burned into memory. Original double weight 8½ x 12" photograph from 2008 likely taken at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. This particular image rarely seen and not part of a limited estate edition. In overall very fine condition, we note only a very slight crease in top right corner, fortunately in the black of the photograph. Matted, not framed. No studio or all rights reserved stamp on verso. Estimated Value $900 - 1,500
Skinner Gallery, Boston.
