WWI: Extraordinary Collection of German Postcards Photos From WWI. 200+ pieces: Ships, Troops, Bombed Villages & Cities, Propaganda Cards. An exceptional collection of German photo postcards all relating to WWI and some years after. Taking years to assemble, hitting paper shows, antique shops and independently owned bookstores, the consignor took great pride in finding pieces in very fine or better condition even if having been written and addressed.
Just over 200 postcards (we noted no duplicates). The collection as a whole gives a portrait of the Great War that one does not even see in most history books. All black and white images save for propaganda and satirical postcards. Significant landmarks featured, armies, commanders, unimaginable destruction, haunting faces due to the war, naval ships (and a few crusise ships) and much more.
