Lot 45

1794 S-59 R3 PCGS graded XF45. Frosty medium olive brown and steel. The obverse is delicately mottled with some lighter brown toning. No spots or stains and only a few trivial contact marks. A small fissure on the rim above the second S in STATES (as struck) is the best identifying mark. EDS, Breen state I. The reverse is uncracked. There are die clashmarks on the obverse but none on the reverse. The top of the obverse is a bit softly struck (as often seen on this variety) but everything else is strong and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. Graded VF35 net VF30 and tied for CC#10 in the Noyes census, his photo #36880. Our grade is VF30+, close to VF35. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Husak provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 5 finer: 1 in 50, 1 in 53, 1 in 62, 1 in 63, 1 in 64. PCGS #35639. Estimated Value $5,500 - UP
